Financial Planning That Actually Makes Sense

We've spent the better part of two decades helping Australian families and businesses build financial strategies that work in the real world—not just on spreadsheets.

Based in Bella Vista, serving clients across New South Wales

How We Got Started

Back in 2007, our founder Ellery Thornquist noticed something frustrating. Most financial advisors were either pushing products nobody needed or speaking in jargon that made clients feel small. There had to be a better way.

What started as a small consulting practice in a shared office space has grown into a team of strategists who genuinely care about making finance understandable. We're not here to sell you the latest investment scheme or complicate things unnecessarily.

The work we do focuses on strategic financial planning—which is just a fancy way of saying we help you figure out where your money should go and why. Some clients need retirement planning. Others are managing business cash flow. A few are just trying to make sense of superannuation options without falling asleep.

What Drives Our Work

These aren't corporate buzzwords. They're the actual principles we use when making decisions about client recommendations and how we run our practice.

Clarity Over Complexity

Financial planning doesn't need to sound like a PhD thesis. We explain things in plain language because if you don't understand your own financial strategy, something's wrong.

Long-Term Thinking

Quick fixes might feel good initially, but they rarely solve actual problems. We build strategies that hold up over years and decades, not just until the next quarterly report.

Honest Conversations

Sometimes the best advice is telling a client what they don't want to hear. We'd rather have difficult conversations early than watch avoidable problems compound over time.

Meet Two of Our Strategists

Our team includes specialists in retirement planning, business financial strategy, and tax-effective structuring. Here are a couple of the people you might work with.

Ellery Thornquist, senior financial strategist specializing in retirement and superannuation planning

Ellery Thornquist

Senior Financial Strategist

Ellery started vixentloiq after working in corporate finance for companies that treated clients like account numbers. He specializes in retirement planning and has this annoying habit of asking questions that make you rethink everything. Clients either love it or find it mildly uncomfortable—usually both.

Outside of work, he's probably hiking somewhere around the Blue Mountains or trying to convince his kids that camping is fun.

Saskia Wendlandt, business financial strategist helping small and medium enterprises with cash flow management

Saskia Wendlandt

Business Financial Strategist

Saskia joined us in 2018 after spending years helping small businesses survive cash flow crises. She's particularly good at spotting patterns in spending that business owners miss and creating structures that prevent predictable problems.

Her approach is practical and sometimes blunt—which tends to work well with business owners who don't have time for fluff. She's also a coffee snob who will judge your espresso choices.

Our Commitment to Clients

Financial planning should make your life simpler, not more complicated. When you work with vixentloiq, you get straightforward advice based on your actual situation—not generic recommendations pulled from a template.

We take time to understand what you're trying to achieve and why. Then we build strategies that align with those goals, adjusting as circumstances change. Because let's be honest—life rarely goes according to plan.

Whether you're preparing for retirement, managing business finances, or trying to optimize your tax position, we focus on creating frameworks that give you confidence in your financial decisions.
